Gotham
Gotham is our 3 year old Great Dane. The girlfriend and I got him not long after we started dating and definitely turned out the be the best dog I've ever had. I'd always wanted a Great Dane and when a friend of mine reached out and said his aunt had puppies I had to check em out. I wasn't really sure if I was ready for a pup at the time since I was still working out of town some times and was just in general super busy. But once the gf saw the pic it was decided.
We picked the name because of the gf and my love for batman and the fact that he was pure back other than a small white streak on his chest. We've since added a small dog and a cat to our fam, but the personality that Gotham has is unmatched.
The dude is the most gentle giant you could imagine. He's got a bark that will scare of delivery drivers, but at the end of the day he's a pretty big sissy. Fireworks and loud storms are definitely not his thing.
One thing that needs to be known for anyone who may want one of these magnificent beasts is that they are definitely a costly pet to own. This dude is particular goes through 2 65lb bags of food a month. Add of vet bills, toys, treats and the time it takes to properly exercise him means that Danes are definitely an all around investment. Also, um...they get fucking big...I see lots of them in shelters because people don't realize just how big they get. So if you don't want a horse in your house (seriously think of it like that), then maybe find yourself something a little more manageable.
