And Then There Were Two

It appears that the Buffalo Bills find themselves down to two possible starting quarterbacks for the regular season as AJ McCarron went down with a hairline fracture of the collarbone in last night's preseason week 2 match up with the Cleveland Browns according to Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News.

This now leaves the question, who will be the starting quarter back for the Bills come week 1 of the regular season? The option the team is left with is between Sophmore Nathan Peterman out of Pittsburgh or rookie Josh Allen, the Bills 1st pick and 7th overall pick in this years draft.

Peterman, who only completed 24 of 49 attempts, gathered 252 yards with only 2 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, and 2 fumbles.  He also only won 1 out of the 4 games he played in and his only win came against a severely struggling colts team, oh yeah and it also went into OT.

Josh Allen on the other hand is a rookie that may find himself under center in Buffalo as early as week 1 of the regular season and he shows he's definitely capable of leading at least a successful TD drive against the browns in the preseason.  He wont be the first rookie QB to be thrown into this kind of situation as the league has seen it's share of busts and potential success stories ranging from players like Johnny Manziel and RG3 to the likes of Jared Goff and Carson Wentz.

It'll be very interesting to see how this decision will be made as Buffallo still has 2 remaining preseason games against the Bengals and the Bears.  And will whoever earns this spot continue to hold it if AJ McCarron returns at some point this season?
